The ministère des Transports du Québec facilitates access to the Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle (Québec)/Champlain ( New York) border crossing for truckers participating to the FAST/EXPRES program. Thus, truckers who can prove that they meet this program’s requirements are authorized to drive in the left lane for the last six kilometers of Autoroute 15 southbound. In addition, at the approach to the border, the left lane of the road reserved for the exclusive use of trucks (which begins immediately after the Chemin Ridge intersection) allows participants to access the U.S. Customs FAST/EXPRES booth directly.

Only truckers who can prove that they are approved under the FAST/EXPRES program are authorized to use the left lane for the last six kilometers of Autoroute 15 South and the left lane of the road reserved for trucks . To benefit from the advantages of the FAST/EXPRES program, all of the following conditions must be met: all shippers of all freight contained in the truck, as well as the carrier, must be approved with C-TPAT, which is intended for businesses. The driver and all the occupants of the vehicle must be approved with FAST/EXPRES, which is intended for road professionals. Use of the left lane by a trucker not approved with FAST/EXPRES constitutes an offence under the Highway Safety Code of Québec.
